Installation – Nail Option

  1. Mark the location of Strut Hanger on the bearer or beam.
  2. Position Strut Hanger against bearer and fix all round holes with total of 20/30mm x ∅2.8 Multinail nails.
  3. Fit floor joists hard against the bearer or beam and fix all round holes with total of 6/30mm x ∅2.8 Multinail nails to MultiStrut joist, EcoJoist®, SteelWood® joist or SpanJoist.
  4. Secure floor joist to Strut Hanger with 1/30mm x 2.8∅ Multinail nail or 1/30mm x No.6 Type 17 screw underneath.

Installation – Screw Option

  1. Mark the location of Strut Hanger on the bearer or beam.
  2. Position Strut Hanger against bearer and fix all square holes with total of 10/35mm Green Tip #12 screws.
  3. Fit floor joists hard against the bearer or beam and fix all square holes with total of 4/35mm Green Tip #12 screws to MultiStrut joist, EcoJoist®, SteelWood® joist or SpanJoist.
  4. Secure the floor joist to Strut Hanger with 1/30mm x 2.8∅ Multinail nail or 1/30mm x No.6 Type 17 screw underneath.

Note: For timber bearer or beam where thickness is greater than 70mm, use 65mm Green Tip #12 Screws at bearer or beam support.

NOTE: Limit state design capacities are obtained from laboratory testing and derived from AS1720.1 for houses where failure is unlikely to affect an area greater than 25m2. For primary elements in structures other than houses or elements in a house for which failure would be greater than 25m2 these capacities must be multiplied by 0.94. For primary joints in essential services or post disaster buildings multiply by 0.88.
