About the Position
The role we have available is for a Technical Software Support Lead. This role presents as a great opportunity to use your leadership skills and experience in managing the day to day running of the technical software support team.

Taking hold of your people management skills and industry technical know how you will oversee the progress of the department, evaluating the departments performance and crafting guidelines and strategies to help reach company goals.

This is an important role that will see you working closely with your team and linking information and providing training beyond your department to other areas of the business – an effective communicator is a must!

Other duties of the role will include stepping in from to time to time to help take the overflow of help desk phone calls. Developing training plans and processes for customers and field technical support staff – an interest in teaching and training will be advantageous to your success in this role.

Junior Machinery Software & Controls Engineer

About the Position
Reporting to the Machinery Software Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to aid in the development, maintenance, testing and support of machinery control systems performing automated sawing and timber assembly operations.
This is a hands-on software & control systems development position. You will be developing front-end user applications as well as safe and efficient control systems involving sensors, motors, drives and actuators. Much of the time may be spent on the factory floor, developing, integrating, testing and refining systems for new and existing products.
This position is based at the Machinery Division at our Stapylton facility, which is located at the Northern end of the sunny Gold Coast. Infrequent travel may be required to other Multinail facilities for training and meetings, or to customer sites for equipment commissioning and support.
The successful candidate for this position must be articulate, with good written and verbal communication skills. They will be flexible, versatile and comfortable working across a broad range of fields. They will also be eager and quick to learn new skills, and focussed and finding the best possible solution to complex problems.

 

We are looking for a candidate who can be described as one of the following:

  • An outstanding graduate Engineer (B.Eng. Software/Computer/Mechatronic) with strong programming skills and demonstrable knowledge in a relevant field, such as a final year project in robotics
  • A Junior Control Systems Engineer (2 – 3 years’ experience) with PLC programming experience as well as being proficient in a high-level programming language
  • A Junior Software Engineer (2 – 3 years’ experience) with strong programming skills as well as some demonstrable knowledge in a relevant field, such as hobby electronics/robotics projects

 

Key Selection Criteria
Your application must specifically address your training and experience in each of the following criteria:

  • Strong skills in a high-level programming language (preferably C#)
  • Basic electrical and electromechanical aptitude
  • Good mathematical ability (2D/3D coordinate systems, trigonometry)
  • Experience with Version Control Systems (preferably Git)

Additional Selection Criteria
Knowledge in some of the following areas is highly desired:

  • .NET/C#/WPF

About the Position

An opportunity has arisen for a C# Software Developer to join our Software Development Team based in our newly built Head Office located in Stapylton – the northern end of the Gold Coast. In this role you will be responsible for the development cycle of engineering software modules.

You will bring to the role enthusiasm – taking on tasks and working with the team to see them through to successful delivery, possess a keen desire to build better solutions and bring innovation to our software solutions. Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • The interpretation of specifications;
  • Hands-on design, development, test and implementation of software solutions;
  • Participate in agile practices to deliver high quality software;
  • Participate in code reviews and assist team members to improve in performance;
  • Write technical documentation, test cases and unit tests;
  • Regularly use modern source control software and build practices;
  • Communicate with technical development staff over requirements and issues related to new products;
  • Provide support to technical support staff and other staff;
  • Employ a high level of communication skills (verbal & written); and
  • Work as part of our team providing solutions to our customers.

 

Key Selection Criteria

This position is ideally suited to an individual who is a strong team player who will bring to the role a minimum of 5 years experience developing C#, developing .Net applications at a commercial level.

 

You will also possess:

  • IT degree, or equivalent computing qualifications;
  • A good understanding of geometry and trigonometry and a working knowledge of mathematics;
  • Good arithmetic reasoning and a high level of problem-solving abilities;

The Role

Working as part of a team, you will be involved in & responsible for providing machinery service technician support for the Truss & Frame industry in a timely & efficient manner – professionalism & ability to provide a pleasant customer service experience is a must!

This role will require you to travel to our customers premises to provide service, repairs and emergency work on our machinery. The successful candidate must have the ability to travel and to frequently work over time.

The Successful applicant MUST possess the following attributes:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting) or equivalent

  • High risk work license – Forklift

The Role

As the technical support officer you will be based in Stapylton as part of the technical support and service team for our machinery, you will be also totally mobile working across all states. The position carries the formal responsibility for the machinery hardware installation, operational and application software, network connectivity and printers, whilst providing remote support through a formal centralized service support desk operation.

 

Successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Providing sound feasible and economic solutions to Multinail’s customers/fabricators by providing telephone support, whilst also attending fabricators sites as requested. This will include conducting investigations, diagnosing and proposing solutions to on-site problems.
  • The first point of contact for all reporting problems, requests for training, advice and guidance, and service questions.
  • Carrying out first problem determination, with a full analysis, before involving any other machinery or technical support.
  • Providing detailed design support to the Machinery Division with specifications, new features and enhancements, or modifications to products, as a result of testing or changing standards.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualifications in Machinery, Design & Development and Manufacturing methods in light to heavy machinery/steel industry.
  • Qualifications gained in an Electrical, Mechanical or Engineering field, with a strong business, commercial background would be attractive and considered very advantageous.
  • Highly numerate and articulate, with good written and verbal communication skills and an ability to represent the company with confidence, honesty, and credibility to customers, senior executives, and

 

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in machinery manufacture, operations, training and deployment in the truss fabrication machinery industry.
  • Exposure in a large industrial or engineering business at a competent engineering level is desirable, and an understanding of building, engineering and manufacturing standards and associated procedures are desirable for such a role.
  • Must have knowledge of Management processes and practices, and experience in working in an internal and external facing support team.
  • Must have an appreciation of the manufacturing processes and procedures, as well as experience with the timber pre-fabrication building and construction industry.

About the Position

Based in our Stapylton production facility we are seeking to appoint an experienced Toolmaker, the primary focus of this position is to maintain existing tooling, tool design and manufacture of new tooling as well as mentoring any and all apprentices. To ensure a superior product as per our quality standards, reporting through to our Production Manager.

 

Key Selection Criteria

This position is suited to an experienced Toolmaker who holds the following skills:

Prerequisite:

  • Minimum 5 years trade certified Toolmaker.

 

Experience in the following areas is essential:

  • Thorough knowledge of Metal Stamping Tooling.
  • Good understanding of Multi-Stage progression tooling and press setting procedures.
  • A good level of communication skills (verbal and written).
  • CNC programming an advantage.
  • Forklift license an advantage.
